A Break To Remember

A feeling of nirvana, a feeling of warmth, and a complete feeling of relief; these are the feelings that arose in me this winter break. Needless to say, I enjoyed the time I had to calm and refresh my mind and body. I never take a break from school lightly; I always try to make the most of the time I have to actually relax and not worry about the upcoming challenges that await me at Johnson C. Smith University. Even though I did not want to leave home, I made it back and I am ready and rejuvenated to start another semester.

During the break I went back home and had an amazing time with my family and friends. We had the usual Christmas dinner, which tasted so good, especially since it has been so long since I had a great meal. The family threw it down with a compilation of different cuisines that formed a feast fit for a king.

New Year's Day was also very exciting because my younger frat brother and I attended the Tenth Annual Step Correct Step Competition in Queens, New York. This is a gigantic event with a step show and a party after. At this year's event a combination of amazing step teams that previously competed at Step Correct were fighting for the title of "step team of the decade." The event was massive and I was able to meet other brothers and different people while having a great time.

All in all this winter break was the best out of the three years I have been attending Smith so far. Now it is back to business once again.
