The First Week of School...

The first week of school was almost like a big blur for me. It went by so fast that I can't even remember what I did the majority of the week. I was really anxious to find out who my professors were and what my classes would be like for my first year of college. I was thinking I would walk into a class and the professor would just start talking and throwing all kinds of information towards me to catch by the second and he would give me no time to even pull out my pen to write them down.

To my surprise, all of my professors are really laid back people. Actually, they didn't throw a lot at me for the first couple of days. I really like all of my professors, both as educators and as people, and I feel I have more people to go to for help. I also like how I am not just another student in a class; my professors know my name and make me feel like I am a part of the class.

I especially enjoy going to Liberal Studies who I have with Professor Drew. I already enjoy history but she adds something to it that makes you want to learn more and not leave the class. I must say that this is my favorite class.

She also is like a grandmother to me and the rest of class. I may see her in the hall and she will have just a small conversation with us and she will just put the biggest smile on my face. I feel that I could go to her about anything. I feel like she is like a grandmother to me already and it's now only the second week of school. The first week of classes here at Smith really set a good impression, I feel like I have no choice but to be successful just because of the people who are around me here.
