Greetings Fellow Smithites,

Welcome to Johnson C. Smith University where the Gold symbolizes TRUTHFULNESS and the Blue symbolizes LOYALTY! I am extremely honored to represent you and the University as we embark upon "New Beginnings." I encourage you to become involved in serving, developing, and building a platform that will ensure students have the ultimate college experience.

The bar of excellence is continuing to rise and students must be prepared to achieve academically and personally. I encourage you to join forces with me and other student leaders who stand ready to help you on your path to success.

In closing remember, where you are does not define where you are going. When you get there, don't let your environment get inside of you but let your spirit of excellence influence it. Do your job and do it well! At all times remember that humility, service, and excellence will allow you privileges, respect, and honor. It is my sincere hope that you will continue to honor our rich heritage while we gracefully embrace and anticipate the future.
