Johnson C. Smith University President Dr. Ronald L. Carter invites the media 10 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, to hear an important announcement about the creation of a University Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum and Instructional Facility on Trade Street. The 45-minute event will be held at the site of the future center on 1545 West Trade Street.

Details about the center's significance to the West End and the University will be announced during the press conference. Mayor Anthony Foxx and various school officials will be on hand.
