JCSU kicked off its athletic season at its 5th Annual "Fesi-Bull" in the Irwin Belk Complex on Saturday, August 22, 2009. More than 300 spectators came out for an energy-packed celebration. Participants were introduced to the 2009-2010 volleyball, tennis,football teams and coaches. Dr. Carter provided the welcome, while Lamont Hinson and Viticus Thomas co-emceed the fun-filled event. The Luv-a-Bulls also performed. In addition, Mr. Grover Smith, President of the 100 Club, greeted everyone as well.

This year, the interactive contests included "JCSU Seat of Success "a modern version of musical chairs, and a dance contest. Winners were given gift cards to Wal-Mart. Younger JCSU sports fans had a chance to play in the moon bounce or test their skills on the rock climbing wall. The more daring individuals took a spin on the mechanical bull.
