Position: Counselor

Responsibilities: Provides individual and group therapy for college students with regard to emotional, social, and academic issues. Develops individualized treatment plans and maintains detailed documentation regarding therapy sessions. Co-advises and supervises the Peer Education Program. Designs and conducts workshops and seminars for specific student populations. Develops and maintains a working knowledge of community resources for community outreach and networking. Rotates an on-call schedule with the Director for emergency coverage and performs related duties as required to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications: Requires a master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field and two years counseling experience preferably in a college or university setting. Familiarity with clinical documentation protocol as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to maintain a confidential, professional, and courteous demeanor while working with faculty, staff, and students. Alcohol and substance abuse counseling experience is a plus. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
