Position: DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

Responsibilities: Plans and establishes goals for the direction of the department; supervises, develops and evaluates staff. Develops and monitors departmental and financial aid budgets; analyzes and awards financial aid in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies. Maintains a comprehensive system of student financial aid records including a master roster of all student aid recipients, showing the amount and types of aid for each student which reflects the status of student aid awards and funds; coordinates the administration of student financial aid with Grant-in-Aid programs for Athletics, Band, Choir, Honors College and other departments; authorizes the distribution and crediting of aid to student accounts, completes and/ or supervise the submission of institutional, federal and state reports, reports on the status of general program operations; reviews, evaluates formulates recommendations regarding policies, procedures and programs for the area and performs other duties as required to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications: A master's degree and five years experience in financial aid with a minimum of three years as Assistant or Associate Director are required. Experience providing supervision and guidance for the management, security and preservation of academic records; gathering, analyzing and reporting data for data-driven decision making and proficiency with academic resources planning and integrated student information systems such a Jenzabar, Banner, Campus View or Oracle are also required. The ability to communicate bilingually (English/Spanish) and experience analyzing and managing international student records are highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals including students, faculty, staff and the general public. Must be willing and able to work evenings and some weekends. The equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
